Deze plant uit de lookfamilie werd al geteeld rond 2100 voor Christus en is door de vele jaren heen al tot op onze velden in West- en Oost-Vlaanderen geraakt. En in geen tijd wordt ze keurig bij geleverd voor de grootkeuken, supermarkt of andere spelers in de voedingsindustrie.
